The 3 Do’s and Dont’s of Engaging Social Media Marketing

Using social media is a great way to market your company. The question on everyone’s social_media_picturemind though is,
“How can I be more effective?” Follow these 3 simple do’s and don’ts and start transforming your social media marketing.

The Do’s of Engaging Social Media Marketing

1. Post At The Right Time

Despite what most think, the time at which you are posting does matter. Posting at peak times results in more engagement from your followers. These peak times can be found through analytics which gives you an engagement breakdown by hour.

2. Keep your message consistent

Make sure before you start sharing that you have a goal in mind. This goal should go right along with your marketing goals. This way when you start sharing, all of your messages will be consistent across all of your platforms.

3. Use a Checklist

Businesses are successful with social media because they keep a running checklist of the message, time, and landing page. This makes posting consistent which shows the consumers that you know what you are doing.

The Don’ts of Engaging Social Media Marketing

1. Overload your followers

Being active is key on social media, but make sure you’re not over doing it. There are issues that can occur from posting too much such as; your posts can get lost in your followers news feed, and information overload can result in followers unsubscribing.

2. Follow and Connect

You want to make sure when you are connecting to or following someone back that the person will represent your business in a positive manner. Remember, who you associate with reflects on how people perceive your business.

3. Like Your Posts

If you posted the material you obviously like it, so there is no need to “like” what you posted. When you like your own posted material, it looks like you are desperate for engagement, and it just looks bad overall. Instead, encourage others in your company to share and like your material.

Following these simple do’s and don’ts will help to take your engaging social media marketing to the next level. Remember, just posting won’t cut it.
