Build up your email list and convert more website visitors into sales by using lead magnets.

What is a lead magnet?

A lead magnet is a “freebie” that you give out to a customer in exchange for their contact information. For example, SEO companies could give away a free SEO audit of your website in exchange for your name and email address.

What is SEO? Search engine optimization increases the likelihood of your site being found on the search engines. This leads magnet attracts a customer in two ways: one, by offering SEO tips, the freebie offers a way for the SEO company to show off their SEO strategy to a prospective client and, hopefully, convince the lead to buy the company’s services. Second, the audit is only available after the user’s contact information is entered. Once the company has the lead’s email address, they can send email campaigns out to the potential customer. Lead magnets are a great way to convince customers to subscribe to your email campaign. According to Convinceandconvert.com, 44% of email recipients made at least one purchase last year because they received a promotional email. You should know that you not only have to write engaging, compelling, search engine optimized content to convert website visitors into sales. The writer needs to provide a reason, a hook, for the customers to make the next step towards making a purchase. Attracting leads through leads magnets such as eBooks and free trials works because the leads magnets give away content that builds credibility in a company’s brand.

Use lead magnets in website content, email campaigns, and social media in order to drive more sales to your business.

In order to increase your ROI, or return on investment for your online marketing campaign, utilize leads magnets in your website landing pages, social media pages and email blasts or newsletters. Encourage potential customers to take advantage of free trials and free downloadable how-to guides on Facebook posts and in your weekly email campaigns. Maximize your social media marketing ROI by offering free, irresistible “freebies” like exclusive coupons and offers for your social media followers or email subscribers. Track your social media ROI by monitoring the traffic from your social media pages to your website’s leads pages and by measuring the percentage of visitors that click on the leads magnets and become prospects. Which leads pages are the most successful in converting website visitors into leads and leads into sales? Which social media pages and email campaigns are leading directly to more sales for your business? Remember to not only use lead magnets but to track their effectiveness as well in order to maximize your profits.  The lead magnet is your best friend!
